Public Policy Think Tank on Kashmir
Image description
The state of Jammu & Kashmir is an integral part of the India. Instrument of Accession was signed by the ruler of the erstwhile princely state of J&K on 25 October 1947 that was accepted by the government of India on 27 October 1947. This was subsequently ratified by the elected representatives of the people of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh.

In June 1948, Sheikh Abdullah, the first elected representative of the people of Jammu & Kashmir said, "We the people of Jammu and Kashmir, have thrown our lot with Indian people not in the heat of passion or a moment of despair, but by a deliberate choice. The union of our people has been fused by the community of ideals and common sufferings in the cause of freedom."

Late Shyam Lal Watt, veteran freedom fighter, and close confidant and aide of Sheikh Abdullah, championed the cause of the people of Jammu & Kashmir.

Shyam Lal Watt Foundation is a public policy think tank on Kashmir - it presents an unbiased perspective on Kashmir from a India viewpoint.
